HOW WE GOT TO THE IDEA TO PUBLISH AN ORIGINAL BOOK
The idea to create a Christmas Magnetic Book was born 2 years ago. In Lenka's mind ♥. Happily,
we noticed your interest, the customers. We have children ourselves and we see what are their current needs and what trends are ruling the market. During Christmas season, we were missing a product that would be playful and in the same time will introduce to children the customs belonging to winter and Christmas. Typical children's activities. And so, we went for it!
Christmas 2019 was over and we definitely decided that Christmas 2020 will be the right year. We knew what we undoubtedly wanted, but the look of the book was somewhere, lost in space. Our ideas were also various. But we start somewhere, we had to do it. It was time to put together the first idea.

We decided between several topics of the book
The first step taken, was our own internal design proposal. We knew that will be 4 scenes. Base on the practical side, we decided that the magnets will be placed on a background, so at the beginning we couldn’t decide whether to create a purely Christmas Book, with a background in the interior or a winter Christmas Book like a treasure in the exterior. As you can see the results, the second option won:).
We worked on a detailed design for each scene, with a description of what should be clearly in it, how it should be approximately laid out and what feeling should carry.

HOW ILLUSTRATIONS WERE CREATED
The second step was to find someone who would turn the designs into reality and illustrate the scene. From the beginning, our idea was perfectly fulfilled by our favourite illustrator Edita Hajda, whose work is for sure familiar to you from different pictures in several children's books. Her illustrations were close to our hearts and this is exactly how we imagined ours to be. We approached her and luck was on our side. She just dropped one project and her time was opened up for us.
That was followed by a month-long carousel of creating all the scenes. In order for you not to think that it takes just a couple of days to create these illustrations.
It was a time filled with many emails and chats. First, Edit drew the scenes in black and white and only after editing them together, we added the colours.

A small preview of the scenes BEFORE and AFTER:

THE IDEA TO ADD A LETTER FOR SANTA TO THE BOOK
The idea to add an additional gift in the Magnetic Book - Letter to Santa- came to life spontaneously when we showed the black and white scenes sketches and we gave it our children and they started to colour them as a colouring book.
The colouring book, eventually, became a letter to Santa, which children can paint and draw, or write to Santa their wishes. It's a nice bonus, which we believe will make them happy.
If you have more children at home, we have a little advice for you. Secretly take it out from the book beforehand and copy it several times, so every child in the house will be happy :).

VERSION OF THE FRONT COVER
The cover has changed rapidly since the first draft. Are you curious to know what versions we had? Take a look at its shifts below.
These are the two final proposals, the one on the right being the final choice.
Imagine. It's 30 ° C outside, the sun is shining and we received the first sample of a magnetic book. Bells played in our ears and we eagerly opened the package with a Christmas book. The perfect summer Christmas :).
We are hoping that you, and especially your children, will like our Christmas Magnetic Book and they will enjoy it to the maximum.
Thanks for reading, the book was lovingly dreamed about and created for you by the author team of Barbora, Lenka, Nina.
